It's a make-or-break situation for Fabricio Werdum

UFC Fight Night 14-Johnson’s agent to file appeal against winner Burns

Anthony “Rumble” Johnson’s agent Ken Pavia has declared that the fighter will appeal against his loss in the UFC Fight Night 14. According to Ken Pavia, Johnson should not have been declared as defeated against Burns. Referee Steve Mazzgatti should have either stopped the fight or declared Johnson the winner.

Johnson had suffered several eye pokes including the severest one which floored him in the final round.

Ken Pavia states that he would be failing in his responsibility if he did not lodge a complaint and demand recourse for Johnson’s loss in the UFC fight this week end. He further adds that Johnson behaved in most humbly by apologizing for inadvertently kicking Kevin Burns in the groin in the first round. But Kevin Burns went on to punch more than six eye gouges and put three finger prints on the back of Johnson’s eye socket. The blows were so heavy that Johnson thought that his eye had popped out.

Johnson is not likely to get the decision overturned in his favour, as is evident from NSAC’s (Nevada State Athletic Commission’s) past record on such types of appeals on the fight results.

Johnson has always displayed high standard of sportsmanship and never trashed the referee or the system.
