Caged Warriors at Carlisle

On June 21, Hilltop Hotel next Saturday, promoter Mark Hodgson is putting on a 13-fight card titled Cage Carnage. He has organized a host of successful mixed martial arts (MMA) events in Workington.

According to Hodgson, This will be the first time that MMA will have a cage. They have had MMA in Carlisle before.

Hodgson has used the 20 ft steel octagon in some of his Workington shows. The 20 ft steel octagon will be transported from Manchester for the event.

Carlisle’s Paul Thompson will fight for the new Cage Carnage semi-pro welterweight belt against Neil Fraser from Burnley.

Welterweight Andrew Reeves from Workington will compete against Gargett Hughes and Josh Desbrough will compete against Birmingham’s Daniel Howard.

Cockermouth’s Ben Roberts will compete against Welshman Rhydian Hughes and Whitehaven middleweights James Taylor and Phil Palmer will fight against Barrow fighters.

Cage boxing sessions will also be included, which is similar to traditional boxing.
