Chuck Liddell Wont be competing against Anderson Silva

MDS wondered if Chuck Liddell would compete against Anderson Silva after returning to the octagon in a dream matchup for fans of mixed martial arts. Liddell will be competing against Rashad Evans in the main event of UFC. The main event is being held at Atlanta.

Liddell, after replacing Shogun Rua was supposed to meet Evans at UFC 85 in London. Iceman's hamstring could not allow him to fight, as he was not fit enough. Liddell’s victory over Wanderlei Silva proved to be an important win and the fight will take place on September 9th. The age, layoff and injury is troublesome for Liddell but Evans has been idle even longer.

Last November he beat Michael Bisping in a Battle of Ultimate Fighter winner. He has not fought since then. James Irvin replaced Liddell but he too went down to injury. Evans’s win over Liddell would have him right back on track. The rise of Evans to light heavyweight has been halted for the time being.

Silva has beaten every top contender in the UFC’s middleweight divisions. Liddell vs. Silva would have been the biggest fights ever though Liddell vs. Evan would be an exciting game too.
