It’s a “make-or-break” situation for Fabricio Werdum.
After a disappointing loss against Gabriel “Napao” Gonzaga at UFC 80 in Newcastle, Fabricio is all set to return to the Octagon after taking most of 2007. He has been training with the famed Chute Boxe fight team once he returned to his hometown Brazil. “I am training a lot of things that I never trained before. I have a BJJ background and it was always on instinct. Now I am learning how to kick, how to punch, learning sequences and all the Muay Thai techniques” stated Fabricio in his interview with MMAWeekly.com. His strong background in jiu-jitsu and the addition of the Maui Thai technique is sure to pack a powerful performance this Saturday.
His Pride bouts against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Alistair Overeem and Jon Olav Einemo have created an impressive stature for him.
Though Werdum had won against Gonzaga four years ago yet things could be different this time. Gonzaga, despite a recent loss to Randy Couture, had won six straight fights. Werdum realizes that this isn’t the same fight of more than four years ago..
