Semifinal Matchups for DREAM Lightweight Grand Prix

DREAM Lightweight Grand Prix semifinal matchups have been decided.

On July 21 at Final Round of DREAM 5 Lightweight Grand Prix, Shinya Aoki will take on Caol Uno and Kawajiri will take on Eddie Alvarez. The event is scheduled to be held at the Osaka-Jo Hall in Osaka, Japan.

Aoki (16-2) had a rematch at DREAM 2 against Gesias “JZ” Calvancante. It was anhe impressive performance, which made him the DREAM’s highest ranked lightweight. Aoki submitted Katsuhiko Nagata from full mount with a gogoplata past this Sunday that led him to win in a spectacular fashion.

Uno (25-10-4) defeated Mitsuhiro Ishida and enters the semifinals with only a single previous appearance in the tournament.

After the unanimous decision over Kultar "Black Mamba" and Luiz "Buscape" FirminoGill, Kawajiri (22-4-2) advanced to semi finals.

Alvarez(14-1), in the quarterfinals put together the best fightsof the year against former Shooto champion Joachim Hansen and stopped Andre Amade in the first round. He has made an entry into the top 10 rankings due to his current involvement with DREAM.
