Strikeforce provide salaries to the fighters
Gilbert Melendez has earned the top monetary prize of $50,000. In the June Strikeforce event, he was the highest ranked fighter. He had lost to Josh "The Punk" Thomson. He took home the Strikeforce lightweight title and $35,000.
Bobby Southworth was one of the contestants in the "The Ultimate Fighter" season with $25,000 for his five-round unanimous decision victory over Anthony Ruiz. He retained his light heavyweight belt and in the process he avenged the loss to his opponent.
Eric Lawson against Jesse Gillespie added a $1,000 KO/Submission of the Night bonus $7,000 basic pay for his rear naked choke submission in 63 seconds.
Strikeforce has provided these salaries to California State Athletic Commission. Therefore, it does not represent other methods of income.
