Three more UFC fights at Philip Arena in Atlanta
UFC has officially announced that 3 more fights will be staged in Atlanta UFC 88 on 6th September, 2008. The fight will involve three biggest names of Mixed Martial Art, Rich Franklin, the former champion of UFC middleweight, Karo Parisyan, the longtime contender of welterweight and Dan Henderson, the former champ of PRIDE two-division.
Franklin was away from the light heavyweight division since last three years. He will be returning to fight The Ultimate Fighter 3 standout ‘The Hammer’ Hamill. Hamill had registered biggest win of his career by defeating Tim Boetsch in April, 2008.
The second mixed martial art star, Henderson, appears all set for the 185-pound title mix against Rousimar Palhares. The grappling wizard Rosimar, despite his defeat earlier, had impressed UFC fans in his fight with veteran Ivan Salaverry in May, by flooring him in the very first round.
The two greatest judo black belts Parisyan and Japan’s Yoshiyuki Yoshida will be engaged in the welterweight bout ever witnessed in the Octagon.
The sale of tickets for UFC 88: Breakthrough has already been started. The main event which will be held at Philip Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, will commence with a bout between Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell and unconquered ‘Sugar’ Rashad Evans.
