Williams having a hard time for his MMA debut
Williams instead of making his Mixed Martial Arts debut Saturday, Las Vegas, forced to postpone his entry into the world of MMA.
William got a call around 6 A.M from Nevada State Athletic Commission asking him whether he could take part in the K-1 “Battle at the Bellagio” tournament. He said that he could not fight.
K1 kickboxing uses boxing gloves while MMA promotions use four-ounce fighter gloves. There matches are held inside the boxing rings too instead of a cage.
Williams had problem with much heavier opponents but did not had any problem with his opponent McDonald, who stands 5 foot 11 inches and weighs 210 pounds.
Williams did not receive his fighter license from CSAC even when he cleared his medical exams. According to CSAC Chief Armando Garcia Williams has passed his medical requirements but did not meet other requirements that are required for fight license.
Garcia added that his recent performances were not good. Based on all the facts and totality of circumstances CSAC determined that he did not have the ability to perform at this time.
Garcia thinks that Williams will not get a fighter license to compete in California. Williams does not understand why Commission is making life difficult for him.
