Din Thomas

Din “Dinyero” Thomas was born on September 28, 1976. He is an American mixed martial arts fighter. Din Thomas currently manages and conducts a successful MMA Academy in Port St Lucie, Florida.

Under the guidance and supervision of trainer Ricardo Liborio, Din Thomas learned and mastered the skills of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Following discipline and intese love for martial arts, Din earned a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It was awarded to him by trainer Ricardo Liborio.

Din Thomas was featured on the reality show, Ultimate Fighter 4. His debut fight on the show was against Mikey Burnett. Din Thomas defeated Mikey Burnett expeditiously in the very first round. Unfortunately, Thomas lost a fight against a friend and show training partner, Chris Lytle. Din Thomas lost by a unanimous decision, which resulted in his elimination from the championship.

Din Thomas made his first appearance on UFC when he competed at UFC 32. His debut fight at UFC was against B.J. Penn. Thomas lost in the middle of the first round through TKO (strikes)

In UFC 33, Din Thomas fought against Fabiano Iha. Thomas emerged victorious via unanimous decision.

At UFC 39, Thomas confronted the Japanese megastar Caol Uno. It was a fight for the title of the new UFC Lightweight Champion. Unfortunately, Din Thomas lost after 3 rounds by unanimous decision.

Din Thomas returned to compete in UFC in UFC 41. Thomas fought against Matt Serra. After three grueling rounds, Din won the match by split decision. This fight with Serra proved to be slightly controversial. One of the judges accidentally marked the score reserved for Din Thomas, in Matt Serra’s column. Hence, Serra was declared as the winner by decision. But, the mistake was soon uncovered, providing Thomas with a split decision victory.

On November 11, 2006, after losing on The Ultimate Fighter 4, Din Thomas returned at the finale to compete against Rich Clementi. Using his powerful rear naked choke effectively, Din Thomas won the fight in the second round.

UFC Fight Night 8 witnessed a comeback of Din Thomas on January 25th, where he defeated Clay Guida by unanimous decision.
