Eddie Sanchez

Eddie Sanchez a “Mixed Martial Arts Fighter” was born on 4th November 1982. He is associated with the “North Country Fight Club” and his current records include 8-1-0 i.e. 8 wins, 1 loss and 0 draws). Eddie is 6’2 tall and weighs 230lbs (104kg). He is at present located in California, USA. He is a jiu-jitsu fighter and of all the movements involved in fighting, he loves to strike.

His fans call him “Dirty” and “Enforcer”. Eddie is famous for his “Punches” and excellent hand speed. He terms this as his famous “Right hand Punch”. He is one of those fighters who always have a “Fight plan” in hand, and is thus always beforehand prepared. This quality in him had made him take up a fight spontaneously, where he had initially appeared as a viewer.

In his earlier times, Eddie was a trainer at the North Country fight club.It has been a year that he has been fighting professionally. He started his career with the octagon at the UFC 63, where he replaced Gonzaga and fought against Mario Neto. Here he made a break through in his career with a grand victory. He later made his stand at the “Pride” events and came to be known as one of the “Pride stars”.

It was three years back when Eddie faced the most tragic time of his life by meeting a terrible car accident. This accident was life threatening and he was in the ICU for three weeks. He had badly injured his right foot, thus frightening his martial arts career. Thankfully, he saved his foot and slowly and steadily recovered with the aim of fighting once again. This experience has made him a much more focused athlete and he now gives his all to his fighting career.

Sanchez’s has been in the news lately for his debut at the “UFC 67”. “Ultimate Fighting Championship” was held on February 3rd 2007 at the Mandalay Bay Events center in Las Vegas. This event is what all martial arts fans eagerly wait for. It was here where Eddie was fighting against the 2006 Pride Open-weight Grand Prix Champion Mirko Cro Cop.

This fight was very important for Eddie as it was a turning point in his career. He knew it was a great challenge to defeat “Cro Cop”. He took this challenge very positively. With the media claming that accepting this fight was Eddie’s biggest mistake, he was firm enough to take it up as an open challenge. However the result declared Cro Cop as a winner at the end of the first round.

Though he did not win this fight, Eddie Sanchez is looking forward to greater victories and hoping to never disappoint his fans.
