Eric Wray

Eric Wray

Eric, an MMA artist, was born in California, USA. He weighed 170lbs (77kg) and was associated with the “American Kickboxing Academy”.

Wray had undergone training with the “American Kickboxing Academy”, which offers professional training on mixed martial arts techniques like “Brazalian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing and Muay Thai. It also provides training on “professional fighting management”. Here Wray was trained how to face a fight and how to go about planning it. Eric had undertaken a complete Mixed Martial Arts training here, with three days of practicing takedowns and kicks. Wray believed, that “AKA” was really good an institute, to put all skills together, in a single complete package. Very few institutes offered services like the “AKA” would offer.

He started his career on 7th September 2002, where he won the “North American sport fighting invitational” against “Jake Garcia”. He then moved on to the “Cage Fighting Monterrey” (CFM), where he won against “Chino Chino”. Eric made his debut in one of the most famous mixed martial arts event “Pride and Fury” (PFA) in 2004, where he won against “Steve Gomm “through a submission. He then was seen, making a win against “Theo McDonald” at the “MMA Mexico day-2”. His last fight was in October 2006, which was also his first loss against “Jason Von Flue” at “Strike Force”. His record thus positioned him with 5 wins and 1 loss.

Among various MMA artists, Eric was popularly known for his strong ground fighting skills. Right from his youth, he wanted to be a professional wrestler. This thirst of “Winning” was seen in each of his fights, through his brilliant submission skills. He was a purple belt holder in “Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu” and an expert at “Tae Kwon Do”. These skills were strengthened further, when he undertook personal training with world champion kick boxer, “Brian Schwartz”, and former boxing and kickboxing champion, “Eddie Croft”.
Eric Wray died soon after his last fight, at a hospital in California. He was very young, and this news came to everyone as a big shock. There were no specific reasons for his death, which were disclosed by the hospital or MMA. But Many of MMA collogues believed that, this was due his addiction to drugs. His death had one famous MMA artist “Fitch” dedicate his win against “Fallen Comrade” to Eric Wray.

In all Eric Wray was a brilliant mixed martial artist, who had a very strong record of 5 wins and just 1 loss. He had a very bright future in the world of Mixed Martial arts, but unfortunately, it was ended soon.
