Fedor Emelianenko

Fedor Emelianenko, is a Russian Mixed Martial Artist. He was born on 28th September1976 at Lohansk, Ukraine. He is the second child in the family and has his younger brother “Alksander”, in MMA too as an MMA fighter. His fighting style mainly includes Judo, Sambo and Kickboxing.
Fedor completed his high school in 1991, and was graduated in 1994. His enthusiasm for wrestling began with his experience in self-defense and Judo. He then took up his first training session under “Gavrilov V.I.”, after which he trained under “Voronov V.M.” He then moved on to serve the Russian army as a “Military Fighter” from 1995 to 1997.
Emelianenko continued his passion for fighting, when he was introduced to Sambo and Judo. He took up training for the same under “Vaisiliy Ivanovich Gavrilov”. His keen interest in this technique then, bagged him with the official certification of “Master of Sports” in Sambo and Judo. This gave him a direct entry in the Russian national team. In 1998, he won a bronze medal in Judo, at a championship in Russia. He then proved himself further, and was awarded a silver medal by the Russian armed forces.
With these wins, he realized the importance of keeping up his strength, and undertook training with “Michkov A.V” where he concentrated on polishing his punches. This resulted him, to secure the third place at the Russian Championship. He then came to be known as a world champion in the “heavy weight” category.
From then on, the journey of rewards and honors has been a never-ending process. Some of his championships in Judo Include:
- 7th place at the “Dutch Grand Prix Rotterdam”
- 3rd place at the “A-Tournament Sofia”
- 3rd place at the “Moscow International Tournament”
His mixed martial Arts titles include:
- Rings World Absolute Class Tournament Champion in 2001
- RINGS King of Kings Heavyweight Tournament Champion in 2001
- PRIDE World Heavyweight Champion
- PRIDE Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament Champion in 2004
Other Titles include:
- 1st place at “Full Contact Fighter” in the category of the Heavyweight Fighter in the World
- Shoot fighter of the year in the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter-2005”
- 1st place for the heavyweight fighter in the world, in the “MMA Weekly 2006 and 2007”
Fedor currently weighs 101.8 Kg and is 183 cm tall. His present coach is “ Vladimir Mihailovich Voronov”. His training sessions mainly include pull-ups, push-ups and crunches with 12-15 km of running each day. Fedor is known for his strength and strong wiliness to fight and win. His records position him with 24 wins, only a single loss with no draws. He has his own full-fledged training school called the “Fedor School”, where the up coming and talented MMA artists, are taught to polish their skills further.
