Lee Lamrani Ibrahim Murray is renowned as Lee “Lightning” Murray. Murray, of partial Moroccan descent is a mixed martial arts fighter from Britain. He was born on November 12, 1977 in London, England. He possesses a professional MMA record of 8-4-2-1; which translates to 8 wins, 4 by knock-out, 2 losses and 1 draw for the uninitiated. Lee Murray crossed the threshold of the world of martial arts at the age of 21 by way of Muay Thai boxing. Lee is now considered a prodigy in the boulevards of London and is rumored to have tasted victory in hundreds of fights on the street.
He has been making waves in the global sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA); with stoppage victories over the legendary Brazilian striker, Jose 'Pele' Landi-Jons, and the tough Puerto Rican, Jorge Rivera. Lee is notorious for getting into brawls under the influence of alcohol, a noteworthy one being with the then-UFC champion in the light heavyweight category Tito Ortiz at a London nightclub in July 2002 after UFC 38.
Both inebriated by alcohol, Murray alleges to have knocked down Tito, perhaps by Total Knock Out and dribbled him in his face. Matt Hughes (a contemporary at MMA) interceded and leapt on Tito's behind to shield him. Another UFC contender Pat Miletich, dragged Murray from the sight and discontinued the fight. Ortiz blatantly refutes any such dealings happening however other UFC fighters maintain themselves as spectators to the squabble. Murray was hospitalized following a stabbing in a scuffle outside Funky Buddha club in London amidst a glamour model party on 28th September 2005 where he endured a severed artery and a punctured lung. Due to a colossal loss of blood, Murray had to be resuscitated four times, throughout the fatal operation that saved his life.
On 25th June of 2006, Lee Murray was taken into custody in Rabat, capital of Morocco, with his companion Paul "The Enforcer" Allen. The apprehensions were a combined operation with the Kent Police in relation with the £53 million Securitas raid being Britain's leading cash robbery till date, in Tonbridge, Kent that occurred on 22nd February 2006.
The police at Kent are in quest of the expatriation of Lee Murray for interrogation in link to this robbery. Lee Murray was under arrest with cronies who were unearthed with a measure of cocaine and hashish and if established guilty, Murray would have to serve some prison time in Morocco. A Moroccan court consideration determined Murray’s fate on whether Murray and Allen were the couple of men sought over the £53 million Securitas heist in Kent and can be handed over back to the UK; was postponed. The Supreme Court of Morocco deferred the expatriation petition until May 30th, 2007.
The tribunal had appealed for a holdup so as to evaluate a document presented from Lee's father substantiating that Murray, is a Moroccan holding a British passport.
