Patrick Cote also popularly known as “The Predator” weighing about 84 kg and 5 ft 11 inch in height is a Canadian mixed martial arts fighter. He was born on February 29, 1980 in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada and presently fights as a middleweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Cote was in the Canadian army since five years before entering in the world of wrestling. He started his martial arts training when he was a part of the Canadian army, and also got trained for boxing. Before started studying for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under the very famous Fabio Holanda, he also added wrestling and kickboxing to his list.

Few of his accomplishments include:

  • TKO lightweight heavyweight champion
  • World middleweight MFC champion
  • KOTC Canadian light heavyweight champion

Patrick Cote’s has an outstanding mixed martial arts record of 10 wins, 4 by Knockouts, 3 via submissions, 3 decisions and 4 losses and 0 draws. Few of his remarkable victories includes UFC 67- All or Nothing against Scott Smith by Decision (Unanimous), MFC 9- No Excuses against Jason MacDonald by Submission (Rear Naked Choke)- here he won his MFC Middleweight title, KOTC- Anarchy against Bill Mahood via Submission (Choke)- here he won his KOTC Canadian Title, and UCC PG 9- UCC Proving Ground 9 against Glenn Murdoch by TKO (Corner Stoppage).

After serving the Canadian army, until 2004, he started taking his training more seriously. Despite of presently training with Team Union, Cote also trains with few friends like the Canadian MMA fighter, Georges St. Pierre. Cote became friends with George, while competing against him in TKO Major League MMA. Another follows in the list, who is Mark Dellagrotte, with whom he met, for his preparation for his UFC 67. Apart from all this, he also trains in Wrestling at BTT Canada which is in Montreal as well as in Jiu Jitsu.

Having a perfect start for his career in TKO, Cote had a remarkable and an unbeatable record with five wins along with TKO Light Heavyweight Championship. At UFC 50 came his big opportunity, where Lion’s Den veteran Guy Mezger had to survive in the fight against Tito Ortiz and that was, when Cote’s role started and he was called on a notice of four days, switching off his original opponent at UFC 50 from Marvin Eastman to Ortiz. Unfortunately he lost the match by unanimous decision.

He started to fight in the year 2000 in an amateur organization, turned professional by 2002 and became a full time fighter in the year 2004. Coming from a college in computer science, his inspiration came when he saw the fight on the television.Apart being MMA his favorite sport, he loves to play a lot of golf too.

Cote won his first UFC match in the year 2006 at The Ultimate Fighter 4 against Jorge Rivera in the middleweight tournament. Advancing towards the semi-finals, he defeated his opponent Edwin Dewees but unfortunately lost in the first round via submission in the finale over the Brazilian Jiu- Jitsu fighter Travis Lutter.
