It's a make-or-break situation for Fabricio Werdum

Wes Sims

Wes Sims

Nicknamed ‘the Project’, Wesley 'Wes' Edward is a mixed martial artist. Born in America, the 28 year old fighter is famous for his combat enthusiasm and unorthodox fighting method. Presently he is a part of Team Hammer House. Standing over six feet, 'The Project' is an important part of MMA or mixed martial arts. He planned to be a pro wrestler. However, he became a martial fighter after coming into contact with Mark Coleman.

One of the most controversial fights of the year 2003 was played between Frank Mir and Wes Sims. Frank Mir was the contender for heavyweight championship at Ultimate Fighting Championship. It was a violent fight; Wes Sims beat Mir on his back and on head many times. The fight had to be ultimately stopped and resulted in disqualification of Wes Sims.

The 2004 match between the two of them was said to be a revenge match where Mir emerged victorious. 'The Project' lost to Mike Kyle in the very first round itself. However, Wes Sims complained of him biting him on the chest.

He considers his triangle chokes and Muay Thai knees as his biggest strength. His signature submissions and strikes indicate his fierce fighting nature. He trains very hard to be the best mixed martial fighter. It is a result of his constant hard work that his fighting skills have shown improvement. He aims to become more strong and big.

Some of his opponents are,
Kimo Leopoldo
Chris Guillen
Albert Palmer
William Jaggers
Anton Cano
Ricardeau Francois
Van Palacio
Robert Hogan
Jabari Hawthorne
Paul Bowers

He mainly trains along with Kevin Randleman and Mark Coleman. Both of them are Ultimate Fighting Championship winners.

The ambitious player leaves no stone unturned to improve his fighting skills. He even trains with Ricco Rodriguez and goes especially to Texas to train with Saul Solis. In the games that he has lost, he has always given a tough fight to his opponents. This probably explains his polished fighting skills. According to his opponents, Wes Sims has no fear, and it makes him the best fighter. His dedication and commitment levels cane be gauged from his fights. He trains extremely hard before a fight.

He himself confesses to do unconventional training, cross–training and boxing. He has no qualms of being brutal to his opponents. He even plans to be brutal for the upcoming Ultimate Fighting Championship 46. He always has a game plan for each fight.

A self believer, he considers himself better than his arch opponent Frank Mir. It does not matter to him who his opponent is. He has a firm believe in his hard work and training.
