As a mixed martial artist Yoshiki has proven be one of the most eminent combat sportsmen in the UFC arena. Belonging to the association of PANCRASEism with a height of 178cm and a weight of 93kgs, Yoshiki Takahashi is a descendant of Japan. His use of the Pancrase of fighting has proven ideal to his combative style. In his career spanning 10 years he has won 8 matches and lost 12. This has enabled him to gain a prestige within the MMA circle. However he continues to be an important combatant in the arena of MMA.

Mixed martial arts (MMA)

Like many combative sports mixed martial arts is a combat sport which utilizes various techniques of combats such as knockout, submission, denial and decisions. By utilizing these strategies of combat mixed martial artists are able to fashion their win in a manner that befits there style of fighting. In MMA the number of rounds that the combatants play is 3. Within these three rounds the competitors have to defeat each other. In these situations it becomes imperative to utilize more than one strategy of combat which will enable each player to manoeuvre around the other.

Mixed martial arts combine the various fighting styles which include Brazilian Jitsu and Japanese Karate. Usually in many of the MMA championships one is to find a large number of Brazilian and Japanese fighters.

Career

His first match against George Weingeroff in 1993 of September was his first taste if victory as he won the match utilizing the KO method. In this fight he was contesting for the Pancrase - Yes, We are Hybrid Wrestlers title. His loss against Ken Shamrock came as a big shock to him. This was particularly surprising as he was utilising the tactic of Submission (heel hook) which would enable him to get a better grip of his opponents.
The title of Pancrash! 1 was a successive victory for Yoshiki Takahashi as he was able to defeat Katsuomi Inagaki with the method of Submission (Rear Naked Choke). In this match he was able to regain his confidence in himself and his supports.

This victory against Katsuomi Inagaki proved to be a moral booster for Yoshiki Takahashi as he was he was able to defeat Andre Van Den Oetelaar with the method of Decision (Lost Points).

However with his progression in age Yoshiki Takahashi has had many defeats and greater losses. Due to low moral Yoshiki has lost 2 matches against Melvin Manhoef and Mark Burch. In both these matches he was fighting for the title of K-1 - Hero's 8 and Bodog Fight - Alvarez vs. Lee.Even after using the methods of TKO and KO, Yoshiki was not able to win the match.

Yoshiki Takahashi continues to be a strong contender in the realm of UFC.
